The Estate is located in the heart of Burgundy in Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, a few kilometers from Nuits-Saint-Georges. The grape varieties are essentially made up of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with a small part of Aligoté on clay-limestone terroirs typical of the region. Since 2000, the Estate has been converted to organic farming.
History of Domaine Patrick Hudelot Wine Estate
12th century, the Sires of Vergy harvested Pinot on the steep and very sunny slopes of the Hautes Côtes de Nuits.
In the 1950s, Domaine Hudelot saw its first plantings of vines, but they were very limited.
It was only during the 1960s that the Domaine expanded significantly.
In 1980, Patrick Hudelot took over the family estate to raise it to its current level.
Today, the estate supports 22 hectares of vines, it is one of the largest in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits region.
In 2000, Patrick Hudelot decided to convert the entire Estate to organic farming to preserve the health of consumers, workers and the surrounding ecosystem.
In recent years, the estate has refocused on the vinification of the vines belonging to it, offering Aligoté and the white and red Hautes-Côtes de Nuits appellations.
By implementing sustainable practices, such as organic farming, and concentrating on producing high-quality wines, Domaine Hudelot continues to excel in the wine industry.
Our philosophy remains above all to produce beautiful grapes, most of the winegrower's work is in the vineyard. It is for this reason that we arrived at organic cultivation which we have been practicing since 2000.
As long as we have high quality grapes, the winemaking work is greatly facilitated. The quantity of additives of all kinds that can be used is limited to a minimum in order to preserve the health of consumers and ours.
In the cellar, our work is based on respect for the terroirs. No excessive extraction is carried out. We prefer wines of great finesse rather than technological wines. We are in Burgundy, we have exceptional terroirs, it is up to us to reveal them.
